Neurofeedback

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a transformative technique that leverages real-time monitoring of brain wave activity to help individuals learn self-regulation, enhancing both mental and physical performance. Under the expert guidance of our licensed therapists, clients gain the ability to recognize and modulate their brain wave patterns, achieving more balanced states of mental clarity, emotional stability, and physical well-being.

By directly influencing brain activity, neurofeedback trains the brain to produce optimal patterns, which can significantly improve symptoms related to various mental health and developmental challenges. This non-invasive approach enables individuals to experience better emotional resilience, enhanced cognitive functioning, and overall wellness.

Is Neurofeedback Right for You?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a method that observes brainwave patterns in real time to help individuals develop self-regulation skills, enhancing both mental and physical well-being. Guided by a licensed therapist, clients learn to identify and adjust their brainwave activity to reach desired mental and physical states.

Conditions Addressed:

Neurofeedback supports individuals with disorganized brain activity, especially those affected by developmental trauma. By training the brain to engage in stabilizing frequency patterns, we address the core emotional dysregulation often linked with trauma.

Brain Mapping

Quantitative EEG (QEEG) or brain mapping is a non-invasive technique that measures and analyzes brain electrical activity. By placing electrodes on the scalp, we collect data to create a visual representation of brain wave patterns, identifying areas that may require targeted intervention.

Why Have a Brain Map?

The ability to “map” the brain provides far more insight into where problems originate than simply answering questions on a form. What may sound like one issue in a verbal or written questionnaire can actually be identified as something entirely different when analyzed through brain activity patterns. For example, answers that suggest an ADHD diagnosis might reveal, through brain mapping, a learning disorder caused by faulty neuronal connections.

Benefits of Brain Mapping:

After your first BrainMap session, our Neurofeedback Specialist will review the findings with you and design a personalized treatment plan based on your results.

Biofeedback Training

Biofeedback training equips you with the skills to control your body’s natural responses to stress. By observing visual feedback of your stress indicators, you can learn to apply relaxation techniques that counteract the body’s fight-or-flight reaction. A central element of biofeedback is breathing control, which has a powerful impact on heart rate and stress levels. Through steady and even breathing practices, you can foster improved emotional balance and physical health, achieving greater self-regulation and resilience.

For Parents

If you’re exploring solutions to support your child or teen’s mental well-being, neurofeedback offers a safe, non-invasive way to help them develop better focus, emotional stability, and self-regulation skills. For children facing challenges like ADHD, anxiety, or mood imbalances, neurofeedback can be a game-changer, guiding their brain toward healthier patterns without the need for medication. Neurofeedback doesn’t just manage symptoms—it equips your child with lifelong tools for resilience and emotional health.

“ Neurofeedback was a turning point in our journey through crisis toward healing from developmental trauma. It calmed our child’s nervous system so they can stay in their thinking brain more often and manage difficult feelings. “

“I used to get really angry at the smallest things, and it was hard to stop once I started getting upset. After doing neurofeedback, I feel way more in control. When I feel myself starting to get mad, I can calm down before it gets too big. My family noticed it, too—they say I don’t yell as much, and I’m even getting along better with my friends. Neurofeedback has made a big difference. It feels like my brain finally has a way to hit the ‘pause’ button. I can stay calm and think more clearly now.”
